Testing testing

Greetings from Thailand! Taken a while to get internet access but I'm now typing on an incredibly dodgy keyboard in the hotel reception. Supposed to be on the island of Ko Tao right now but we managed to miss the last ferry of the day and had to find somewhere else to stay the night and then we're heading over in the morning.

All been good so far though. The flight was ok from London and Mumbai airport (stopover on the way) was like walking into a seventies timewarp. Everyone should have been wearing flowery shirts and brown flares or something. Got chatting to a girl on the flight from Mumbai to Bangkok who'd been travelling in Central and South America for a few months so she had lots of stories and good advice. We kept each other company through customs and made sure we both got decent taxis who knew where we were going.

Managed to find Dan's apartment ok so we caught up over a few beers in the local bar once I'd dumped my stuff. The next day we headed down to his family home in Hua Hin a couple of hours from Bangkok. I had the luxury of my own guest house, talk about living the high life! I'll remember all these fancy places when I'm slumming it in hostels later on. So hopefully on to the island tomorrow for a bit of sun, sea and sand. Still as pale as anything at the moment so need to get some colour before I scare too many locals.

Over and out for now...
