Cream crackered

So I survived my first day cycling through Thailand - just about! Oh my god it was hard work. We did 85km today starting off from Kao Yai national park and ending up I have no idea where. Beautiful scenery and fairly flat with a few gentle inclines but the heat just crucifies you every step of the way. Just before lunch and the very end was the toughest stretch.

The guide today reckoned that in all his years of cycling he hasn't experienced it as hot as today. He probably says that to everyone!

I felt absolutely dead by the time we got to the hotel but chuffed that I didn't wimp out and sit on the bus. I may not last tomorrow of course... Have consumed so much food and sugar to keep going and as you know, I drink a LOT of water but never as much as today. I reckon i sweated out every scrap of water in me! And only one set of cycling gear... Mmmm nice.

It's a very eclectic, international bunch of people but very interesting and good fun. There are a couple from New Zealand, three girls from Oz who live in hong kong, a german lady who lives in Madrid, an Italian (my room mate), a Dutch guy, Canadian, two girls from eastern Europe and about six of us who are English. Quite surprising. It's no Turkey crowd but we're definitely going to have fun.

Need some sleep as I'm shattered and can type no more. Night all
